All-Star Sports Trading Cards from Action Toys

I bragged a while back about getting tapped to do a product review. You remember, you assumed it was for a naughty toy or something? Well, funny man, it wasn't. It was a company called Action Toys. They sent me the All-Star Sports Trading Cards. You can read the description but basically it's a packet that lets kids make trading cards with their own pictures.

We used a wallet sized picture and it fit perfectly. There are a ton of stickers to personalize the cards, it's easy peasy to do, and Aidan loved it. And that's saying something because we all know Aidan can be somewhat contrary about things. At $7.99, I think it's a fantastic gift idea. And I'm not just saying that because Action Toys stroked my bloggy ego by asking me to do what only the big girl bloggers get asked to do. Think this means I get to sit at the cool table at the next blog conference?

Okay, back on topic... My verdict on the cards is Pass. I wanted to highlight some of Aidan's quotes during our evaluation of the cards. But first I had to write about our conversation when the package arrived at our house.

When the doorbell rang, Aidan jumps up like he's on fire and screams, "It's the pizza, Mama, where's the check?".

"We didn't order pizza, Aidan."

"Oh, well it must be a package for Daddy then."

And I felt vindication because I might be responsible for him thinking our red luggage is a pizza bag but it's Daddy's online shopping habit that prompted that second doorbell assumption.


When I showed him how his picture went on the card he said, "Oh man! You've got to be kidding me, that's so lucky for that card to get to hold my picture!"


I asked him which stickers he wanted to put on his cards he said, "Why do I need stickers? Don't you think my pretty face is great on there?"


When I asked his to stop and smile for a picture he said, "I just don't have time to stop doing my fun stuff to take stupid pictures, Mama."


This is how he smiled for me before telling me to "put the stupid camera down".

When I asked him if he liked the cards he said, "Mmmm, it's pretty cool. If you wanna buy me some more I'll probably play with them."

So I think that serves as a Pass for the All-Star Sports Trading Cards from Action Toys.
